Landlords looking to invest in student accommodation will be pleased to hear that student demand remains high in central London, especially from international students.
According to data published by UCAS, the UK-based organisation which manages the application process of students to British universities, this year there has been a 3.4% increase in the number of applicants inside the EU (not including the UK) applying to British universities, despite Brexit.
UCAS also revealed that there has been an 11% increase in the number of international students – those based outside the EU – applying to British universities in 2018.
As it stands, this year the number of student applicants based outside the EU reached 58,450, while the number of applicants to British universities based inside the EU (not including the UK) reached 43,510.
This means that student demand is strong, but it is especially strong due to a particularly high demand from students based outside the EU.
